Stolen Items
Update 04/07/08:
I'd like to thank everyone, all my friends and all those folks whom I had never even met before this theft for all the love and support I've been shown. At this time I still do not know where my Dulcimer and other inlay work are. I hope that someday someone will recognize my work and notify myself and the Winfield Police (case # 2007-2208) ph.# 620-221-5555. Thank you again to everyone who has been keeping their eyes open, I really appreciate it. And yes, to answer the question I've been asked many times. I will be at this year's Winfield and will have a booth. |
While attending the Walnut Valley Festival at Winfield KS. this year thieves stole these items from my van:
Mountain Dulcimer Van Dusen Dulcimer, Curly Koa with Spruce top and Ebony overlay on the fret board, peg head and back of peg head. The Ebony overlays have Mother of Pearl Inlay by Sharon Van Dusen. The peg head has a Man in the Moon and Stars on the front and a Sleeping Man in the Moon on the back. The fret board has Stars, Trees with a bird's nest with eggs in it, a Mother and Baby Unicorn, a Mother Rabbit and three baby bunnies, and below the bridge is a Fairy sitting on a Flower. The Dulcimer was in a black padded Bag Lady case which has the Bag Lady logo of a Thistle Blossom on it and also has a pink embroidered SV sewn onto the front of the case. Also in the case were: an Inteli-tuner, a leather strap with bead work on it, a Neil Helmon Chord book, and a well used copy of the Pocket Pickers Chord book. Written by Dana Hamilton.
Also taken was my entire inventory of Shell Inlay Jewelry. The jewelry is hand made by myself and is one of a kind. The pieces are Mother of Pearl, Abalone, and other types of shell inlaid into Ebony wood. The pieces are hand engraved, then cut out by hand and finished with silver jewelry findings. The inventory includes necklace pendants, earrings, tie tacks, pins, and beaded chokers. The designs include: Celtic Knots, Cats, Celtic Cats, Moons, Frogs, Horses, Christian, and many others. Included in the Jewelry are a necklace of the Seven Fazes of the Moon and 6 Necklaces with Fairy pendants. I also had adjustable length beaded necklaces for putting the pendants on. (I did retrieve 29 pieces of jewelry that the thieves lost as they were running from security.)
Other items taken were:
- 2-Inlaid chin rests for a violin:
- One chin rest had a flower design inlaid on it.
- The second chin rest had a Gold Mother of Pearl Celtic Knot inlaid on it.
- 1 Inlaid tailpiece for a violin:
- This piece had a small pink triangular shaped Celtic Knot.
- 2 Ebony Veneers (Approx. 4 X 8 in.):
At the time of the theft the veneers were screwed to blocks of pine with strips of walnut.
- One Veneer had a Fairy with Gold Mother of Pearl wings, White Mother of Pearl skin, Pink Mussel dress, and Black Mother of Pearl Hair.
- The Second overlay had a Fairy holding a butterfly with Black Mother of Pearl Dress, Green Sea Snail wings, Pink Mussel skin, and Gold Mother of Pearl hair. The Butterfly was made of Paua Shell.
Also taken a Sony Mavica Digital Camera in a black camera case.
